 | Yayasan Felda is a charitable foundation funded by a percentage of the annual profits of Felda Holdings and FELDA. It was established on 26 September 1998 under the Trustee Act 1952 with a view to elevate the national standards of education, health, research & development, welfare and cultural heritage. |  |

 | Yayasan Felda provides financial assistance to school pupils, participants of skill courses and students at local institutions of higher learning. |  |

 |  Initiatives: |  | | | | The Adopt-A-School Project which gives financial aid of RM 20,000 and RM 40,000 over a 3-year period to improve the academic performance of students from low income families in selected rural schools
| | establishing short term vocational and technical courses to provide less academically inclined youths with viable skills for profitable careers. The courses are computer repairs, automotive repairs, electrical wiring and sewing, intensive English, multimedia and health. They are taught at six centres in Perak, Selangor, Terengganu, Negeri Sembilan, Johor and Pahang which can accommodate 1,200 students at any one time. A total of 1,550 students benefited from this initiative in 2007; and
| | providing undergraduate scholarships, post-graduate education grants and bursaries via the higher educational institutions. These provide much-needed financial support for local students pursuing their studies in the country. A total of 107 students enjoyed this support in 2007.

 | Yayasan Felda's other focus is to provide medical support and subsidised treatment for the chronically ill and elderly. In 2007, it spent RM 2.6 million on healthcare. |  |

 |  Contributions: |  | | | | Running a Haemodialysis Centre at Jalan Maktab, Kuala Lumpur which was established in 1999 specially for low income kidney patients who cannot afford conventional care. The Centre owns 23 dialysis machines and subsidises medical care for up to 60 patients monthly. It is staffed full-time by 13 nurses, four support staff, a doctor and a Nefrology specialist
| | donating medical support equipment to various government hospitals and NGO haemodialysis centres. Since 2003, it has donated a total of 23 dialysis machines worth RM 945,000 Receipients are given the opportunity to pick the type of machine they require
| | enabling elderly citizens over the age of 60 to receive free outpatient treatment at Hospital PUSRAWI in Kuala Lumpur since 2000; and
| | financially supporting the purchase of equipment such as hearing aids, artificial limbs, wheelchairs and implants for those in need.

 | Since 1999, Yayasan Felda has distributed annual R&D grants to support new discoveries that will benefit society and put Malaysia on the international map of scientific and technological breakthroughs.
At present, Yayasan is funding 12 projects to the tune of RM 2.23 million, bringing to a total of 71 grants valued at RM 12.2 million given out since 1999. Thirty-two of these were successfully completed with potential for commercial applications. |  |

 | On an ad-hoc basis, Yayasan Felda contributes to the basic welfare needs of low income Malaysians and also provides housing and financial assistance to those stricken by natural disasters. |  |

| | from 1999 to 2001, provided financial support to a total of 2,455 families from every state including Sabah and Sarawak, specifically helping disabled heads of the families defray household expenses
| | sponsored the restoration and maintenance of places with historic, cultural and environmental value such as the Kota Gelanggi caves in Pahang; and
| | supported programmes organised by NGOs such as MERCY, Malaysian Youth Council, Association of Single Mothers and the Association of Ex-Armed Forces.
